Five Signs You’re Ready for the Future of Earthdragon Medicine

Hello friend! If you’re reading this, chances are you are curious about my services at Earthdragon Medicine. I’m Shannen Lee (she/her) - a soon-to-be licensed naturopathic doctor in the state of CA. I plan to practice vitalistic naturopathic care in the San Francisco Bay Area - also my birthplace.

My specialties are in women’s health, and my mission is to help female patients find rest and deep comfort in their bodies. My interest in wellness began in my mid-teenage years, expanding from a desire to feel better—whatever “better” could mean for an anxious, depressed teen trying to make sense of her world. I explored many approaches available to me at the time, driven by curiosity and a need for relief.

I am also a “late-diagnosed” individual of “blended” neurotypes (formally identified during my final years of naturopathic medical education in my early 30s) - which also provides the unique approach that Earthdragon Medicine offers. This recognition added important context to my clinical perspective, as it brought forward deeper layers of understanding around unmet developmental needs, executive functioning, and the emotional impact of delayed identification.

Through my own lived experience, I have a grounded understanding of behavioral and dietary patterns, shame, guilt, shutdown and the confusing, often unspoken layers of grief that many women carry. This is strengthened by years of personal development, trauma resolution work, and embodiment practices—alongside rigorous clinical training and guidance of incredible female mentors and teachers.

I am one who is highly perceptive and attuned—to my internal landscape, to the people I serve, and to the environments we work within. It has taken extensive effort, self-study, and therapeutic work to reach a place where I can confidently say my own complex trauma history does not intrude on my patient relationships. I believe this is essential in healthcare: practitioners must continually ensure that their personal patterns do not enmesh with a patient’s inner process, particularly when the patient is navigating sensitive or vulnerable terrain.

To help you determine whether my clinical approach may be a good fit in the future, here are five indicators that patients often resonate with when this type of work is right for them:

1. You have been engaged in therapy or personal growth work for several years. You’re curious about somatics, embodiment, or trauma-informed healing—or you’ve already begun integrating these frameworks.

2. You identify as a sensitive, perceptive, or highly attuned person—and this has been reflected to you throughout your life. You may notice subtleties in your body, emotions, relationships, environment, or energy that others often overlook.

3. You possess an inherent curiosity about your inner and outer world. People often seek your perspective because your insights tend to be thoughtful, intuitive, and accurate. If you already have a great healthcare team, you are looking for a space for deep, somatic healing to root so that resolving everything else feels grounded.

4. You recognize your life as meaningful, and you want to feel that truth more fully in your body. You understand that personal healing contributes to collective and ecological well-being.

5. You’re ready to collaborate with a practitioner who values shared humanity, mutual respect, and co-created care. You want guidance that supports your autonomy, clarity, and long-term vitality. You do not expect hand-holding, and can reciprocate self-loving boundaries and respect for one another.

If these points speak to you, I welcome you to consider Earthdragon Medicine in your future support in health and healing in a grounded, integrative way.

I wish you well, and look forward to serving you as your future Earthdragon ND!

With Loving Qi,
Shannen Lee
